overthrow attached to west of
G.V. Church of St. Mary

Walls in 2 sections attached to Church of St. Mary (q.v.) and surrounding
churchyard to west, piers, gates, railings and lamp overthrow. Early C19.
Brick wall with limestone coping to south, coursed rubble wall with stone coping
to north, limestone piers, cast and wrought iron railings, gates and overthrow.
North range of wall about 45 metres long, wall ramped up to east to accommodate
slope of ground, southern range about 50 metres long (interrupted by C20 greenhouse)
railings along all walls with fircone finials to principal rails and knob finials
to common rails; pair of square piers on plinths with moulded bases each with
cornice and hipped top, at entrance to churchyard, gates swept down at centre
with central fircone finial and oval lock, single rail overthrow with remains of
lantern at centre. In poor condition at time of survey, (September 1984).
