GV II

Mill house and garden walls and gates. Circa mid C18 origins extended in late C18,
early C19 and mid C19. Stone rubble, partly slate hung with rag slates. Scantle
slate roof with hipped ends. Axial and end stacks with brick shafts. Complete cast
iron guttering decorated with lion's masks.

the house has been built or rebuilt in at least four sections. The main range of the
house is of an 'L' shaped plan: the long front range has a 3-room plan with entrance
to right of centre with a wing to rear right which overlooks the garden. The
principal rooms are arranged along the garden front and to the left of the entrance
with the service rooms beyond to the left. The service rooms are in a parallel back
range forming an overall double depth plan. In circa mid C19 a further cottage of 1-
room plan was added to the left, now incorporated into the house.
Exterior: 2 storeys. North west front elevation of 2:4 window front containing the
original 16-pane hornless sashes on the first floor. Circa mid C19 extension to
left with main range to right. Two 2-light casements flank a blocked entrance to
left with large late C19 bay window near the centre and C19 panelled door and
doorcase to right. Four 16-pane sashes on first floor. Garden front to south-west
is slate hung with rag slates. Regular 2-window front with 16-pane sash to left and
late C19 bay window to right. Two 16-pane sashes on first floor.
Interior: Not inspected.
Including dressed slate stone garden walls to south west and north west which have
