Farmhouse. 1768 and mid C19. Coursed and squared limestone with hipped
slate roof. Chamfered plinth, first floor band, quoins. 2 grouped coped
stone ridge stacks. 2 storeys, 3 bays. Symmetrical south front has
central C20 reeded doorcase and 5-panel door with C18 fanlight. On
either side a mid C19 scrolled cast iron post. Above the door the first
floor band is inscribed 'Pychley (sic) 1768 Grange'. Above again, a 6/6
sash. On either side a flat-roofed 2-storey bow window with a C19
tripartite sash on each floor. Beyond again, on either side, a mid C19
cast iron double gate and wicket, with skeleton piers and a short railing,
altogether 7m long. West front has a near-central glazed door and to its
right, 2 6/6 sashes, all with keystoned heads. To the left, a large C20
canted bay window and beyond it, a round window. Above, an off-centre
6/9 sash, flanked to left by 2 6/6 sashes and to right by a C20 sham
sash. All with keystoned heads.
