Barn. Probably C17 with later alterations. Sandstone rubble plinth, timber-
frame with brick and wattle-and-daub infill, squared sandstone and corrugated
iron roof. Four bays aligned north-east/south-west. Two levels. South
elevation has one square opening above garage-entry to left-hand side, three
square ground floor openings and two more entries, one to right-hand side and
one to left of centre. West gable has 3-light oak mullioned window to upper
level. East gable has exposed panels and queen-struts to collar above which
are scissor struts. Frame is three square panels high from cill to wall-plate.
Attached to north side is a sandstone lean-to extension, probably early C19.
Interior has queen-struts to collars. Included for group value. (RCHM, Vol I,
p 88-9).
