No 112 (Milestone Cottage)
9/55
GV II
House. Late C17, altered early C20. Limestone rubble with steep stone
slate roof. One storey with attic. Gable wall, facing street, has 4-light
rebated and chamfered mullioned window under a hood which also encloses the
doorway to its right. The attic is lit by a rebated and chamfered mullioned
window of two segmental headed lights. Under the apex is a single-light
window. The doorway has a chamfered surround and canted head. The right-
hand return wall, facing east, has three windows on ground floor with plain
reveals, and two attic dormers. Chimney towards centre of ridge. A photo-
graph of c1906 shows a window with plain reveals where the present doorway

window. (Houghton, C C: A Walk About Broadway, 1980.)
