6/85 Gate Farmhouse

Farmhouse. C17. Coursed rubble-stone lias walls. Thatch roof, half hipped
and gabled. Renewed brick stacks, backing on to cross-passage, at right hand
gable. 1½ storeys. 4 windows, 2 and 3-light wooden casements (C20), some
with glazing bars. Crown glass. Wooden cills and lintels. 3 half dormers.
Front door, left of centre, plank and studded C20. Hipped thatch porch canopy
carried on 2 wooden posts. Raised stone pathway along front of house to front
door. Interior: mid-chamfered beam with filleted stop. Blocked fireplace
with segmental lintel over. Plank doors with iron hinges. "RCHM, Dorset I",
