SY 58 NW SWYRE BREDY ROAD

GV II

Detached House, formerly known as Cob Mill (RCHM), c.1700. Rubble-
stone walls, with stone quoins. Steep thatch roof with stone gable-
copings, and scroll-moulded kneelers. Rendered brick stacks at
each gable. 2 storeys, with large attics. 5 windows, 2-light Ham
stone mullions (ovolos). C20 metal casements with lead lights.
Continuous label over the ground floor windows, raised up over the
front door. First floor windows have a continuous label, returned.
Front doorway at centre, with moulded stone jambs, and a depressed
arch in a square head. Wave and ovolo moulds. Plank door with
ornamental strap-hinges, C20. Gable-ends have 2-light mullion
windows lighting the attics, with C20 metal casements. Projecting
stair-bay on rear wall. Interior: central transverse corridor,
open fireplace in right hand end with stone jambs, and a renewed
lintel, stopped. Small open fireplace in left hand end.
