TEDBURN ST MARY
HACKWORTHY LANE

GV
II

Threshing barn. Possibly late medieval origins, re-roofed in the C19. Cob on stone
rubble footings; corrugated asbestos roof, gabled at ends. Large rectangular barn
with opposed double doors, the floor raised on large rocks to provide a draught
beneath the threshing floor. Lofted lean-to adjoins at right end. Patching in stone
rubble and brick, especially at the left end. Single-storey barn (formerly lofted).
Large doorway on front with cob cheeks; similar rear doorway. Loft doorway on front
to right may be a C19 addition. INTERIOR: C19 roof trusses. A slit window, only
visible from the interior. May be late medieval; it is a narrow lancet in a single
piece of wood.
Group value with Little Hackworthy.
