House. In 2 phases: C16 (or possibly earlier) with mid C17 parlour addition.
Timber framed and plastered except left gable end which is weatherboarded.
Thatched roof. 1½ storeys. Various casement windows, mostly old. To left is
a boarded door and gabled open porch of timber. A further boarded door to
right. One gabled dormer, bearing the painted date 'AD 1646'. Internal stack
with plain C17 shaft. Hall ceiling has plain joists set flat, possibly
inserted into an earlier structure. Open fireplace. At the service end there
are 2 tie beams with heavy braces passing through the floor level; one tie
beam carries queen-posts, with one-way straight braces to the arcade plates.
Roof structure partly renewed following a fire of c.1975. Parlour end has
plain first floor studding.
