Former farmhouse. C16-C17, probably in four phases. A long main range with service wing set forward to right. Timber framed and plastered; the gable end of the service wing is in C17 colourwashed brick. Pantiled roof, with glazed black tiles to the front slope of the main range.

Two storeys and attic. Scattered fenestration, mainly late C19 casements with a single horizontal glazing bar to each light. Gable end of service wing has two small attic window openings, one blocked, one with a two-light window. Six-panel raised and fielded door. Internal stack to main range, gable stack to wing. Left gable end of main range has an early C19 doorway with convex reeded architrave with corner roundels, reeded cornice and paired half-glazed doors; this doorway is now within a later lean-to conservatory. Main range has C16 core, probably extended by one bay at right (service) end. The earlier section has one blocked diamond-mullioned window in the rear wall. The present stack and parlour cell beyond are additions of c.1600, the three bay roof with two rows of wind-braced butt purlins, the lower row set square.

In early-mid C17 the C16 range was raised some 0.4m, the roof having two rows of butt purlins (the upper row stepped) and straight plank wind-bracing. The front range, the last major phase, is mid C17, also with a butt purlin roof. Ground floor of main range has early C19 alteration, the structure largely concealed. Early C19 parlour fireplace with rope-pattern surround and corner roundels.
