House, now 2 dwellings. C17 or earlier, altered C20.
Timber-framed, faced with colourwashed pebbledashed plaster
above brick plinth, old tiled roof, large brick chimneystack
at right also serves No.50 (qv). 2 storeys. C20 leaded light
casements, one 4 and one 3-light on ground floor, two 2-light
on first floor, which also has 2 irregularly placed small
leaded windows at right, that adjoining the jettied
overhanging first floor of No.50 now lighting recess adjacent
to fireplace off front bedroom of No.50. Half glazed entrance
door at right to No.52 and modern glazed entrance door to
No.54 in left hand single storey extension. The building
possibly originated as a hall house, to which No.50 formed the
cross-wing.
