Shop. Early C16, re-roofed C17, many C20 details.
Timber-framed, rendered and colourwashed. Roof is mixture of
black glazed and red pantiles. 2 storeys. Late C19 shop front
to right. 2 sashes to left, of different sizes, with glazing
bars. Jettied first floor, the bressumer on 3 console
brackets. 2 late C18 three-light casements to first floor.
Rebuilt south gable wall. Gabled roof with central ridge
stack. C17 cross wing to rear.
INTERIOR. Cross wing is later addition to original single-pile
structure, a timber 4-centred doorway on chamfered jambs
remains leading to former exterior. Heavy scantling to timber
frame. On the south side of north internal partition on ground
floor there are remains of 3 panels of wall paintings, subject
indecipherable, painted in colour over studs also. Centre 2
studs concerned bear mortices for 4-centred doorway. Sunk
quadrant-moulded bridging beam in extreme south room. Roof of
jowled principal studs bearing arched braces to chamfered tie
beams. One pair of crude queen struts. Roof of cross wing has
2 tiers of butt purlins.
