Farmhouse. Late C18, probably incorporating parts of an earlier building; later
additions and alterations. Roughly coursed slate-stone, rendered to end walls and
C19 addition; slate roof, hipped to right of main range. Basic L-plan including
2-storey mid-to late C19 gabled addition at right-angles to rear on left. 2 storeys
Main range has 2-storey catslide outshut to left. Section to right has 24-paned
glazing bar sash on each floor to right with horned 12-paned sash directly above
central late C19 gabled red brick porch. This has half-glazed outer door with
stained glass margin lights and inner 4-panel door. Horned 12-paned sash to left
on ground floor. All windows have wood lintels. Stone ridge stack with slate drips
and chamfered capping to left, tall integral end stack to left and integral stack
with red brick shaft to rear right corner. Straight joint to rear. Interior:
Inspection not possible at time of resurvey (January 1988) but likely to be of
interest. Right ground-floor room noted as having panelled window shutters.
