NITON AND WHITWELL

GV II

Cottage orne. Early to mid C19 appearance but C17 origins.
Built of coursed stone rubble with thatched roof and brick
chimneystacks. 2 builds, each of 2 storeys. Left part has 2
casements and eyebrow dormers. Thatched porch with rustic
supports and trelliswork balcony. 4 panelled door, the top 2
panels glazed. Right side of higher elevation with random
rubble and brick quoins. Daniel Nutkins appears in a Subsidy
Roll of Charles I in 1642. The room to the left hand side of
the entrance was used by 2 ladies as a dance school.
