3 houses, now shops. 1829-30, with late C20 alterations. By
Charles Mountain, Junior for Hull Trinity House. Brick with
painted ashlar dressings, roof not visible. 2 gable and single
ridge stacks. Moulded eaves band and blocking, with moulded
cornice to No.9. Incomplete ground-floor cornice. 3 storeys;
10 window range. Windows mainly have brick flat arches. To
left, three 12-pane sashes and in the centre 3 similar sashes,
2 of them partly reglazed. To right, 3 plain sashes with
cornices on consoles, and to their right a plain sash. Above,
six 6-pane sashes and to their right, 3 similar sashes with
moulded architraves, then another 6-pane sash. On the ground
floor, 3 late C20 shop fronts with plastic fascias. These
buildings are part of a composition by Mountain which
comprises Nos 1-9 (consecutive) Whitefriargate.
