Savings bank and offices. Early C19. Rendered and colourwashed
brick with slate roof. 3 storeys in 5 bays. Centre 3 bays
project. Ground-floor shopfronts divided into 5 bays with
paired timber pilasters between each bay. Iron balcony to
first floor over whole length of facade. First-floor windows
are actually French doors, the centre 3 under pediments on
consoles, their doors renewed. Platband below second-floor
windows, which are replaced fixed type. Timber eaves cornice.
Hipped roof. Gable-end stacks. Very large brick rear extension
of 2-3 storeys has first floor Venetian window and datestone:
1833.
