Premises of Daniel's House Antiques, formerly Daniel's House. Early and
late C18. Lias rubble and brick side walls. Slate roof, hipped at left
hand, and with a stone gable-coping at right hand. 2 brick stacks, at
left in from hip apex, at right hand gable. 2 storeys and attics. 3
windows to street. 2 symmetrical canted bay in stone, to left and right
with stone strings and stone cills. Sashes with glazing-bars. One sash
centrally over front door. Front door, wood with 4 panels and 2 glass
lights. Reeded door-surround. Greek Doric stone portico with fluted
columns. C19. Rear wing of house, c. early C18. Interior: extensive
flagstone floors. Former patient's waiting room, right hand front, with
consulting room at right hand rear with very wide elliptical headed recess
with a reeded surround. Wooden staircase in hall with plain balusters
and round handrails. c. Early C19.
Attached premises at right hand: lias stone wall, coped for 10 yards along
street with a side door, wood with flush panels. One storey, one sash
window. One large elliptical arch on Doric pilaster captials with a
projecting dropped keystone.
