Charford House and attached railings
II
House. 1825. Red brick with a brown brick facade. Slate roof.
3 storeys and basement in 3 bays. The basement has 2 late C19
sashes with glazing bars. Area steps rise to doorway to left
of elevation: panelled door in round-arched case, fanlight
without glazing bars. Cast-iron verandah rises from basement
on timber posts. Pierced corner brackets and interlace rails.
2 French doors open onto the verandah. The 2 storeys above
each have a blind central window and one C20 sash right and
left. Parapet conceals hipped roof. Railings remain to area
steps: cast-iron circular section styles terminating in tulip
finials.
