Court house, now house. C17 origin, C18 alterations and early C19 stable
attached to left, C20 windows and internal alterations. Rubble, stone dressings,
rear wing rendered, slate roof with raised coped verges and gable stacks. L-plan.
2 storeys and 3 windows, all C20 metal-framed with leaded lights, ground floor has
two 2-light casements with flat mullion and architrave, first floor has similar,
smaller windows, two 3-light and central 2-light, remains of earlier bolection-
moulded architrave between ground and first floor windows to right, blocked window
in same position to left; central door in moulded surround with very worn
architrave, impost block remaining to right, keystone, plain frieze and floating
cornice; returned plinth, weathered string courseand quoins. Left return has
C19 door with Tudor arch and moulded surround and hood mould to left, similar
earlier blocked door to right, very worn chamfered surround; first floor has
2-light window as on front, blocked window with timber lintel remaining at upper
level. Right return has ground floor 2-light window as on front, loading door at
first floor and winch above, marks on wall from former external stair. Single
storey stable attached to left has 2 doors with applied fillets, 4-pane fixed
light and 2-light casement. Rear of house has 2-storey gabled wing to right,
2 windows at ground floor and one 6-light casement at first floor, all C20 with
leaded lights; to left, two 2-light windows at first floor and single storey
lean-to with C20 door and 3 windows. Rear of stable has door as on front, C20
window and opening with ventilation louvres. Interior: C19 staircase with
turned balusters, doors at first floor with applied fillets, front left room at
ground floor has chamfered beam. Interior of stable not accessible.
