Barn. 1810, with later alterations and additions. Limestone rubble, stone
dressings, slate roof with raised coped verges, kneelers and finials, corrugated
iron lean-to at right return. Originally cruciform plan. East elevation has
central high gabled cart entry in stone surround with timber lintel, pigeon-loft
door above with timber lintel and owl-hole above; to left and right a lower
addition with pitched roof infilling the L-shape, each with central stable door
and 4-pane fixed light to each side, small central dormer with ventilation louvres.
Left return has former loading door with C20 window inserted, 2 ventilation slits
at lower level and one in gable, single storey addition to left; right return has
3 ventilation slits, loading door with timber lintel at upper level and blocked
former loading door, ventilation slit in gable; prominent quoins at each return
and stepped stonework under verges. Rear has smaller cart entry with pitched
roof and door, addition to right has curved wall and door in plain frame, 6-pane
fixed light under eaves. Interior: 7-bay roof has principal rafters, 2 rows of
purlins, collars and ridge purlin, cambered upper collar to 2 central trusses,
heavy timber lintel to inner side of west entry.
