Former keeper's lodge belonging to Shuttleworth estate. Later C19, in cottage
ornee style. Red brick, the upper part with colourwashed roughcast render and
applied timber frame decoration. Half-hipped clay tile roof with bands of
fishscale tiles, terracotta ridge cresting and finials. 2-room plan with
slightly projecting gables to W and E, one storey and attics. Cast iron
lattice casements throughout. Some ground floor windows are mullion and
transoms. Ground floor windows have flat heads of moulded stone, and S gable
end is jettied, on decorative stone brackets. Large multiple ridge stack of
red brick, with moulded cornice.
