Corner public house. c.1845 as early part of Thomas Cubitt's Pimlico development with design either by Thomas or his brother Lewis Cubitt. Stucco, slate roof.
Integral design with the Millbank and Ponsonby Place terraces. Four storeys and basement. Three windows wide to Millbank and three-window return to Ponsonby Place with inset bowed corner bay. Channelled ground floor with splayed corner entrance and large flat arched bar windows, under entablature-fascia. Recessed glazing bar sashes to upper floors; those on first floor with cornices and those on second floor with pediments and balconies. Continuous balcony to first floor windows facing Ponsonby Place; cast iron area railings.
