2 tombchests. Circa 1760 and 1821. Tombchest of John Marten who died in 1657; slate
stone rubble chest with rectangular slate lid broken into 2 parts. Marginal
inscription and verse in central panel, both in Gothic lettering.
Inscribed floral pattern. Signed C. Luxon October 1760.
Tombchest of William Gardell of Lower St Columb who died at Trevill in 1821. Stone
chest with rectangular slate Lid.
Inscribed in upper and lower case lettering with serifs. Verse;
This humble grave tho' no proud structure grace,
Yet truth and goodness sanctify the place:
Yet blameless virtue, that adorned thy bloom,
Lamented youth now weeps upon thy tomb .....
