End of terrace town house. 1895-97 by John E. Trollope. Red brick
with stone dressings, slate roof. Somewhat larger than the preceding
terrace houses and more markedly Queen Anne. 4 main storeys, basement
and gabled attic. Asymmetrical 2 window wide elevation. Entrance to
right with stone voussoired arch to recessed porch and boldly
bracketed stone hood forming a balustraded balcony to the 1st floor
window above. The latter and upper floor windows of this right hand
bay set in slightly projecting 3 storey corniced panel. To left is a
canted stone dressed bay window rising from basement to 2nd floor.
Casements and glazing bar sashes. Row of attic casements divided in
centre by a moulded brick cartouche dated 1896. The facade is crowned
by a tall gable with elaborately scrolled stone kneelers and
saddlestone apex with a cartouche and a scrolly pediment. Gabled
asymmetrical return elevation. Prominent stone capped chimney stacks.
Cast iron area and garden railings. Part of Grosvenor Estate's late
C.19 redevelopment and related to Nos. 34-42 Park Street, q.v.
