SK 58 NE STYRRUP WITH OLDCOTES BLYTH ROAD

2/156 Oldcotes Mill

G.V. II

Mill. Late C18 and C19. Dressed coursed rubble. Hipped pantile
roofs. 3 storey, 3 bay north wing, the top floor being a later
addition and later 2 storey, 4 bay south wing. Having from left
to right 2 doorways, a single window opening, a single arch with
water wheel in situ, a single window opening. Above are 3 window
openings, a doorway and a single window opening. On the top
floor are 2 window openings. All openings have flush ashlar
surrounds. There are 2 tie plates on the ground floor and 2 on
the first floor. Interior has machinery in situ for driving 3
pairs of stones and is inscribed "John Thornton Millwright
Engineer & C Worksop". Includes the pit wheel, gears, spur
wheel and stone nuts with wooden teeth. There is also a chute.
