Description

Cemetery chapel. 1873-74. Coursed limestone rubble with red brick and ashlar dressings.
Red fishscale tile roof with moulded ridge tiles and a cross finial. Single cell apsidal plan.
Double chamfered brick plinth. Angle buttresses with set-offs. Cill and impost brick
bands. Decorated brick eaves. West front has a large 3-light, pointed arch window with
ashlar geometrical tracery. Above 2 ashlar corbels supporting a tall gabled bellcote, with
a pointed arch opening. North front has a central projecting, gabled porch with double
chamfered pointed arch doorway with plank doors. Eitherside a single 2-light, pointed
arch window with ashlar geometrical tracery. Apsidal east front has 3 single similar
windows, with buttresses between. South front has to left a projecting, gabled porch with
double chamfered brick entrance arch. To the right 2 single 2-light, pointed arch
windows with ashlar geometrical tracery.
