Late C19 large building in elaborate Renaissance style. Red brick with terra-cotta
dressings. Centre block with high pitched hipped tiled roof is flanked by staircase
tower, lower set back linking bays and end sections being the fronts of side wings;
all these with parapets of different styles, that of the tower sections crowned
by huge vase finials. In centre and ends rusticated brick ground floor has tall,
rusticated gauged brick window arches with triple keyblocks rising to cornice.
Above this rusticated quoins and pilasters support enriched entablatures. 3-light
upper tower windows with column mullions, entablature and shell head in round moulded
architrave. Row of round windows in links. In centre and ends st floor windows
have eared architraves, console bracketed cornices and open pediments with foliage
ornament within. Projecting 2-storey bay with copper roof on left return.
