Description

SANDWELL MB LANGLEY ROAD
SO 98 NE
Langley , Oldbury
8/107
No 2 (Langley Hall)

II

House, now offices and store. Possibly C17, altered early C19 and mid- or
late C19. Pebble-dashed with slate roof. H-plan. Two storeys. Two-bay
centre with one-bay cross-wings. Windows sashed with glazing bars. Above
each is a lintel with central fluted panel and a cornice on brackets.
Between the two central bays is a single-storey later C19 porch with parapet.
Chimneys at left, to right of left-hand wing behind ridge, and to left of
right-hand wing. Interior: the doors and staircase visible at time of survey
are of later C19 type. Although the present windows are early C19, the plan
and roof pitch suggest an earlier origin for the house.
