ST 40 SW STOKE ABBOTT BRIMLEY FARM

4/266 Brimley Farmhouse

GV II

Detached Farmhouse, at one time converted to two cottages, then
returned to one. Early C17. Rubble-stone walls. Thatch roof,
with stone gable-coping at left hand, and hipped at right hand.
One brick stack at left hand gable. One brick stack at right
hand ridge. 1½ storeys. 4 windows, left ground, 4-light stone
mullion with hollow-chamfers. Separate label over. 4-light stone
mullion, (square section) with architraves, C18. First floor:
eyebrow dormers with 3- and 4-light wooden casements with straight-
chamfered wooden mullions and frames, c.C17. Front door, left of
centre, plank, with 2 glass lights. Outshut at north-east rear,
catslide thatch roof. Cast-iron lozenge light casement of former
dairy. Rear of outshut: lower pitch and with a corrugated-iron
roof.
