TL 85 NE STANNINGFIELD DONKEY LANE

5/93 Makins Farmhouse

II


Farmhouse, C16 with C17 alterations and C20 extension. 2 storeys; 3-cell,
lobby-entrance plan. Timber-framed and rough-cast rendered. Asbestos-slated
roof with axial chimney of red brick. C20 casements and boarded entrance door.
Good unmoulded timber-framing with tension bracing at gable-end. Massive axial
chimney with back-to-back open fireplaces inserted c.1600. Roof rebuilt and
rear wing added mid C20. Included despite alterations because of good, but
largely concealed, frame.
