1/8
Stable block to west
of Worting House

- II

Late C18, and modern. A 2-storeyed symmetrical facade (south) with a slightly-
projecting centre block. Hipped slate roof. Red brickwork in Flemish bond, with
coping stone to parapet, rubbed flat arches to ground-floor and to semi-circular
upper openings (1 to each unit). The ground-floor has 3 windows on each side,
the centre replacing a former doorway. The centre piece has side pilasters with
impost blocks supporting a wide ground-floor oval arch, formed of rubbed brick-
work thickening to the centre, with a keystone. This is now filled, leaving a
central opening with an oval fanlight above a doorway with side windows, all
beneath a modern canopy on posts, with an oval raised centre. Sashes in reveals
