Lodges, gates, piers and railings. Early C19. Ashlar lodges and piers;
slate roof; cast-iron gates and railings. A pair of single-storey lodges,
each of 3 bays with corner pilasters, central pedimented Ionic portico and
6-panel door with rectangular overlight and moulded architrave; flanking
glazing bar sashes with moulded architraves. The lodges flank 3 pairs of
ornamental gates and square gate piers with oversailing caps and trefoil-
headed panels. Attached to the outer side of each lodge is a sheet length
of ornamental railing terminating in a square pier with oversailing cap.
To the rear of each lodge is a 3-bay Ionic colonnade and glazing bar sashes.
Possibly by William Atkinson who enlarged Himley Hall (q.v.) 1824-7.
