Lodge and wall to Stanhope Castle. Early C19 for Cuthbert Rippon. Lodge
sandstone ashlar with plinth; rear half sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings;
roof not visible. Wall coursed rubble with ashlar parapet. Lodge: 2 storeys,
4 bays. Shouldered surround to patterned boarded door in fourth bay with small
window to right and 2-light window above. 3 left windows,variously shouldered
or with round-headed lights, in 2-storey canted left bay, are all of 2 lights.
Projecting parapet has raised panel over canted bay, containing coat of arms.
Rear ashlar corniced chimney.

Wall has stepped battlemented parapet-canted back to hold segmental-headed
arch; boarded door to right of arch.
