6/193 The Lodge to Southstoke Hall

Lodge. Mid C19. Ashlar with a slate roof and octagonal ashlar stacks. A
2-storey Gothic style lodge with its gable end on to the road: heavy bracketed
parapet and small open bellcote on the apex. Projecting bay with round-headed
windows under heavy hoods on carved corbels and with a weathered slab roof;
single light window and window with shouldered lintel on first floor; circular
panel in attic. Projecting gabled porch on north side: plank studded door in
roll-moulded, round-headed surround; open, gabled bellcote on apex; carved panel
of arms on gable; open screen on each side of porch ending in an octagonal pier.
