Farmhouse, early C19 but possibly incorporating earlier work in rear service wing.
Coursed limestone rubble, welsh slate roof to coped gables. A main transverse block
with central crosswing at slightly higher ridge level, continued to lower service wing
at rear forming stem on a T-plan and containing a stair turret on the east side at the
junction between the two; the whole set on a steep slope with main front at lowest level
facing south. Main block, two storeys, basement and attic, with gable stack, right,
and ridge stack set back on crosswing, symmetrical, with crosswing brought forward
slightly. Ground floor has a 12-pane sash and C20 door at head of flight of concrete
stairs, then one 12-pane sash central, and two 4-pane sashes to right, these all over
continuous moulded string at floor level, with plank door in chamfered opening and
blocked opening to basement, right; above a plain plat band at first floor level, two
6-pane sashes, left, and in centre section, 2 blocked openings, right, and in central
gable above a moulded string at flanking eaves level, an 8-pane sash (broken) under a
floating moulded cornice. Right return gable includes at first floor a 'lancet' opening
containing 12-pane sash with interlaced Y-tracery in head, over a blocked similar open-
ing. Lower back wing, with service rooms and bakery, has gable stack at outer end and
various casements, also plank door in chamfered opening to east side within a lean-to
roof on square free-standing pillars.

Interior not accessible, but in front room, main floor, are 4-compartment ceiling with
moulded plaster beam casings including egg-and-dart moult, a Gothic fireplace, and some
panelling. A little changed farmhouse of considerable dignity.
