NT 95 SE 11/267 No 1 Quay Walls and railings.

II GV
Houses. 1869. Gothic Revival style. Ashlar with ashlar dressings and
Cumberland slate roof with crow stepped gables. A single ridge and 2 gable
stacks. Contrasting sand stone cill and impost bands, plus chamfered
plinths. 2 storey plus basement. Bridge End front 3 bays with to the right
a moulded and pointed arch doorway with moulded hood, door and overlight
with small oculus. To the left 2 shouldered arched plain sashes with small
oculi, within chamfered pointed arches. Above 3 segment headed plain sashes
topped on crow stepped gables. Single bay chamfered corner front topped
with crow stepped gable, with a plain sash with oculus above within a chamfer-
ed, pointed arch. Above a projecting balcony with strapwork balustrade
and a shouldered arched plain sash with a strapwork pediment inscribed 1869.
The Quay Walls front, 3 bay with central projecting, gabled porch with moulded
and pointed arched doorway, with door overlight and oculus within. Either
side are single shouldered arch plain sashes with oculi, within chamfered
painted arches above 3 central lancets with single plain sashes, flanked
by single segment headed plain sashes with crow stepped gables. spear head
railings to Bridge End front.
