Lodge to country house. 1873 by Alfred Waterhouse for Washington
Jackson. Red brick with stone dressings. Hipped slate roof with deep
bracketed eaves. Brick axial stack with moulded stone strings and
cornice. Italianate style. EXTERIOR: 1 storey 3-bay front, central
projecting wing with bowed front and pair of small round-headed
windows with colonnette. Similar single light window to left and
right;
stone porch in angle on right with classical round arches on panelled
piers and moulded cornice and panelled door inside. Similar single
light windows on end elevations. Rusticated stone quoins, moulded
stone plinth and moulded stone string below eaves. INTERIOR: Not
