Vicarage, now private house. Late C18-early C19 with late C19 addition.
Ashlar and dressed stone with Welsh slate roof. Irregular plan. 2 storeys.
Entrance side: L-plan. Older section to right, in Gothick style, 3 bays with
slightly projecting canted centre bay; doorway in later C19 porch over left
bay. Pointed-arched windows with intersecting glazing bars. Gabled roof with
flat coping. Old brick ridge stack and late C19 corniced end stack.
Former service wing on left with C19 and C20 windows. Gabled roof with early
C19 corniced end stacks.
Garden side has original building to left and later C19 2-bay projection to
right.
Interior has imposing late C17 oak staircase from Durham; closed string enriched
with festoons, masks etc; alternating twisted and acanthus bud balusters; boldly
moulded handrail, panelled newels with ball finials. Landing balustrade has
string course with cherubs' heads and bunches of flowers and balustrade with
shields in festoons.
