Terrace row. Early C18 with later alterations. Flemish bond brick; slate mansard
roof; brick ridge and end stacks. Double-depth plan. 3 storeys and attic; 6-window
range. C20 shop fronts; mid/late C19 panelled door to No 187. Flat brick arches
over early C19 twelve-pane sashes first and second floors, set in C19 raised stucco
architraves to Nos 187 and 188 and cornice over moulded architraves to first floor
of No 189. Stepped brick cornice to parapet; mid C19 horned sashes to dormers.
Interior not inspected but likely to be of interest.

Early C18 houses with altered fronts. 3 storeys, 2 windows each. All but No 186
have attics, slated mansards with dormers. No 186 is red brick, the others stock
brick, No 189 painted, all with parapets. No 186 has sash windows with glazing
bars under gauged brick arches with keystones, the upper ones supporting a brick
cornice: and there is a carriageway through the ground floor. Nos 187 and 188
have altered C19 shops on ground floor; and sash windows with glazing bars, in
raised stucco surrounds, on upper floors. No 189 has modern shop on ground floor
and moulded architraves (those on 1st floor with cornices) to later sash windows
on 1st floor. On 2nd floor gauged flat brick arches to sash windows with glazing
bars. Group value.

Nos 186 to 191 (consec) form a group.
