House. 1801-02 by Samuel Wyatt. North front. Rendered with plinth and band.
Eaves cornice to slate hipped roof with 2 ridge stacks. 2 storeys; 5 windows,
entrance with tall 1-storey Greek Doric columned and pedimented portico. Outer
columns only fluted. Tall glazed double doors with similar glazed lights flanking.
7 bay 2-storey extension to left with further extension beyond. 1-storey blind
extension to right, with pilasters and cornice. West front. 4 bays with glazing
bar sashes on 1st floor. Ground-floor extension to left. Large central window
flanked by paired pilasters with narrow lights between. South front. 2 storeys;
5 bays. Central 3 bay 2 storey semi-circular bow with leaded dome. Windows spaced
more closely in centre. Tripartite sash on ground-floor to right, French casements
to left. Full length verandah on ground-floor, slated on wooden supports. 6 bay
extension to right with taller 6-bay extension beyond. Panelled door with top
2 panels glazed at extreme left end of extension. Interior: Continuous string
2-flight return stair with cast-iron balustrade and wooden hand-rail. Morning room:
Cornice with acanthus decoration. Dining room: Recess at north end divided from
main space by pair of reeded antae. Moulded early C19 Greek Revival fireplace.
Panelled ceiling to recess with anthenian and rosette decoration. All doorcases
with carved rosettes. Those in Dining Room have panelled overdoors.
