Haverlands House

Farmhouse and attached outbuilding. C17 or earlier, with C18 and C19 alterations and
additions. Mud and brick-walled buildings, externally rendered and painted, except at the
east gable which is of brick.House part with brick gable chimneys. Slate roof covering,
with stone slated eaves. Combined house and outbuilding plan with advanced service
offshut to the house, believed to have been a longhouse plan type. South elevation; single
storey throughout, the house offshut fronting the raised house, 2-storeyed to the rear.
3-bay house with central 2-light window, with pointed heads to lights all within painted
flush surrounds. To the east, small-paned window, to the west, small square fire window.
Attached outbuilding with advanced central porch with full-height boarded double doors.
To the east, 2 plain single doorways with flush surrounds, the easternmost door at the
junction with the house, in the position of the cross-passage entry to a longhouse plan
building. To the west 3 small square openings. West gable with overloft door within
apex. Interior not inspected, but believed to contain features of interest.
