A cast iron milestone cast by J, Garrett in 1831. It is inscribed "Ipswich to London
68" on the upper surface and on the splayed sides "Ipswich Woodbridge 8" and "Colchester
17 Chelmsford 39". It is 1 of a series of milestones set up as facings to earlier
stones by the Ipswich Southtown (Gt Yarmouth) Turnpike Trust.
