Canal milestone. c1827 for the Macclesfield Canal Co. Ashlar sandstone with tooled edges and
shaped to top. South face inscribed: "From / Marple / 19 Miles". The north face reads: "From /Hall
Green /7 1/4 Miles". The latter is slightly defaced. NB One in a fine series of milestones and
distance markers (also bridges) on the Macclesfield Canal.
