Shop. Early C19, rebuilt on site of earlier building
representing progressive encroachment on historic market
place. Brick front, now colourwashed. 2 storeys, parapet with
stone coping conceals mid C20 flat roof. First floor has
plate-glazed sash window in reveal under flat arch within
segmentally arched panel with projecting impost bands. Ground
floor has mid C20 shop window, and fascia, flanked with panels
of mosaic cladding, and mosaic stallriser. Rear elevation to
West street, stucco with masonry lining. Ground and first
floor, one slightly recessed sash window with architrave
surrounds and exposed boxes. C20 half-glazed hardwood entrance
door at right, in plain surround, with recessed panel above
and moulded flat door hood supported on cut consoles. Included
for group value.
