Two shops and houses. Early C19. Ashlar, colourwashed; flat roof behind shallow parapet. 3 storeys, 6-bays, built on
curve. Two double shopfronts to ground floor, that to No 16 having C19 stone pilasters and fascia, that to No 17 being
quite plain, without fascia; between them, to bays 3 and 4, plain doorways, that to bay 3 mutilated, but bay 4 a
6-panel door with margined fanlight over; above at both levels 12-pane sash windows set in plain openings, separated by
a band course; elaborate moulded cornice. Interior not seen. Visually important in heart of town.
