Range of houses and shop. West range C17, with facade of early C18 build
to remainder. Red brick. Flemish bond, red pantile roof. 2 storeys with
attics, U plan open to north. West range now in 2 occupations, has single
bay centre, 3 bay flanking wings. Centre has single ground window and first
floor round headed sashes with glazing bars under round rubbed brick arch
head. Raised brick quoins. 3 bays to north has 2 ground and 2 first floor
sashes with glazing bars under flat rubbed brick arches. Ground floor 6 panel
raised and fielded door with rectangular fanlight, blocked semi-circular rubbed
brick arch window above. 3 bays to south 2 ground and 2 first floor sashes
with glazing bars under flat rubbed brick arches, ground floor C20 glazed
door, blocked window above. 2 pedimented 2 light casement dormers with lead
glazing bars. Moulded brick plinth and eaves. Rear C17 clunch with brick
dressings range of 2 builds. South facade to Overy Road a fine early C18
classical composition, a-b-c-b-a bay system. 3 bay centre has one surviving
ground and 3 first floor sashes with glazing bars, with central Venetian window
filled with boarding, all with rubbed brick dressings. 2 bays to west have
2 ground and 2 first floor sashes with glazing bars with rubbed brick
dressings, c.1800 doorcase, fluted pilasters and frieze, 4 panel part glazed
door. 2 bays to east ground floor C19 shop front, 2 first floor windows,
one bricked up, one sash with glazing bars, rubbed brick dressings. Outer
single bay to west has blocked ground floor window, one first floor semi-
circular sash window with glazing bars, Outer bay to east has inserted late
C19 shop front with 2 plate glass windows, central door, moulded brackets
and cornice with single first floor semi-circular headed rubbed brick sash
with glazing bars. 3 centre and single outer bays have raised brick quoins
acting as end pilasters, moulded brick plinth and eaves to whole facade.
Steeply pitched hipped roof with one central axial and one east end ridge
stack, hipped gables.
