Watermill and bridge attached. Late C18 and early C19. Red brick, red
pantiled roofs. Central original build perhaps 1791 with bridge. 2 storeys,
2 bays, with 2 bay addition to north, 2 additions to south of 2 storeys
bays, single storey early C19 engine house addition of 3 bays to east
with 2 storey range beyond. Centre build has one ground floor window
boarded, 2 half-boarded and half casement windows, 3 first floor 2 light
casements with glazing bars, all under segmental brick arches. Central
recessed door with 2 leaf loft loading door above, dormer gabled weather-
boarded lucam above. Additions to north and south in English bond brick,
to north with 2 ground floor relieving arches now filled in with brick
and 2 2-light casements, 2 first floor casements under brick arches, north
gable return with a 2 storey brick segmental arch with one ground and
one first floor door beneath. South addition, 2 ground floor louvred
windows, 3 first floor hinged casements with glazing bars under segmental
brick arches, with ex-situ stone plaque dated 1820. Further English bond
addition with 2 ground floor louvred windows, 2 first floor plastered
blocked windows. Roofs and south gable rebuilt 1960 after 1959 fire.
Parapet wall of bridge to north with triangular coping bricks; south arch
of bridge to mill pond has datestone ES 1790. Attached at east early
C19 brick and pantiled engine house, single storey, 3 bays, with 3 double
arched openings, north cast iron glazing bar window with radial glazing
bar arched head, central arch blocked window below, east arch with cast
iron radial glazing bar head only. Panelled brick stack, 4 round arches
recessed in rectangular frames to lower stage, upper and lower platbands,
inverted arches and battered angles to upper stage, stone coping. 2 storey
block attached at east with cast iron radial glazing bar windows to north
and south gables.
