End of terrace town house. c.1776-88, as part of the south east side of
the Duke of Manchester's development of the square on Portman Estate land,
adjoining Nos. 1 to 3 q.v. Brown brick with stuccoed ground floor;
concealed slate roof. 4 storeys and basement. 3 windows wide to square
with 6-window return to Hinde Street. Semicircular arched doorway with
inset Doric columns and fanlight to centre of Hinde Street front. Recessed
sashes, some with glazing bars, under flat gauged arches to upper floors.
Stucco plat bands. Stone coped parapet. Cast iron area railings with urn
finials.
