5/107 Butterwell 80m to south west
of Worthyvale Manor
GV II
Butterwell. Probably C19. Slate stone rubble. Built into side of steeply sloping
bank on edge of lake below Worthyvale Manor (qv). The Wellhouse is rectangular-on-
plan. The left hand and rear walls are built into the bank and the right hand wall
is constructed of slate stone rubble which has been partly rebuilt. The house is
roofed with a large slab of slate.
Rectangular shallow basin within; slate shelf to rear.
