Farmhouse. Early/mid Cl7 with later C17 extension and dairy outshut to rear;
range to front clad in brick and rebuilt above ground floor c.1820-30. Rough-
cast over timber frame on brick plinth; early C19 Flemish bond brick. Gabled
C19 slate roofs; C19 brick end and ridge stacks. 3-unit plan with lobby entry
extended in later C17 to make L-plan with rear right wing, and rear outshut; bay
to left of front is probably an early C19 addition. 2 storeys. Early C19
three-window range with segmental arches over beaded four-panelled door, C20
French window to left and three-light late C19 casements; early C19 canted bay
window with side-hung casements; segmental arches over early Cl9 sixteen-pane
first-floor sashes. Roughcast bay to right has flat rendered arches over C20
door and late C19 two to 3-light casements. Mid/late C18 two-light casement and
dormer with similar casement, both with leaded-lights. Outshut with lean-to
roof and mid C19 gabled porch to rear. INTERIOR: early C19 panelled doors and
shutters; former service room to right of centre has early C19 corner cupboard
and H-L hinges to doors. The ground floor rooms of the front range have
chamfered ogee-stopped beams; beam to left is probably reset; rear wall retains
timber framing with close studding, visible from former dairy outshut to rear
which retains part of its original timber frame and some C17 plank doors with
original iron fittings; first floor of front range retains C17 floorboards.
Later C17 rear extension has boxed beam and chamfered ogee-stopped beam to
ground floor and 2-bay collar-truss roof with clasped purlins.
